BYJU’s Math Concept Pages

About BYJU’s Math Concept Pages

BYJU’s Math Concept Pages within the Byju's Math Companion App provide a quick yet comprehensive grasp of specific math topics. They include clear definitions, real-life examples, and interactive visuals, helping students prepare for lessons or review concepts. Engaging explanation videos and hands-on practice applets make learning easy and fun, enhancing understanding and retention.

Research Objectives

The aim of the study was to understand the following from teachers

As a teacher what are the materials that they use in the classroom to teach math.

Do they prepare their own material at times?

What do they like about the material that stands out?

Do they use a lesson plan or feel the need of one?

What other influences do they have in choosing a material? (Cost, comprehensiveness etc)

Understand how do they perceive the concept pages

If these pages are made accessible to the teachers, how would they use this in their classrooms?

Participant’s Perception about BYJU’s

Math Concept Pages

They would prefer to give the pages as pre class read because they think these are self explanatory and students can easily understand at their own pace.

They would prefer to share all the content at once to the students, so that they don’t bound themselves with the pace of the school.

Once guided on the hovering part, it would be very easy for them to navigate. But first guidance is needed.

Participant’s Perception about BYJU’s

Math Concept Pages

They loved the concept pages, primarily because of the flow of content which does not require effort from the user’s end to find content.

They can also use them as a substitute to the notes which they provide to the students.

They like that videos, games and practice is inbuilt in these pages and hence feels comprehensive.

Recommendations by the teachers

These pages can be used as a substitute to the notes which are provided to the students or if the concept pages are to be used directly in the class, the following things should be taken care of:
1. Check for understanding is added wherever it is needed.
2. The solution in the illustrative example is hidden or shown in a stepwise manner.

Second recommendation was to share it with the teachers asking them to use it in the class and usage of these pages should increase organically.
